Standing United Mission Statement

Standing United is a non-profit organization helping people suffering from addiction and homelessness reintegrate into society and become upstanding citizens in their communities.

Standing United is made up of professionals and numerous volunteers who work tirelessly to guide people out of their darkest moments and into the light of a new day and a new life.

We created this non-profit to aid those struggling with homelessness and substance abuse disorders. Our team has known the same misfortune, the same uphill battle and we have found the way out. It is now our passion to show others how they too, can find the way out.

We are showing people that they can change and succeed. We let them know we care and that they are important, to help them build self-esteem and know their worth. We inspire hope and give them another chance when the odds seem stacked against them.

What Standing United Does

On a single night in January 2017, 4,792 people experienced homelessness in Orange County (Orange County Continuum of Care 2017 Homeless Count & Survey Report). Many of those struggle with substance abuse and mental health problems. Getting back on their feet seems impossible.

Our objective is advocacy for the homeless and addicted population, who is often misunderstood. We promote compassion for those who have hit rock bottom and unite our community to help them get back on their feet. We are making a difference.

We work with local law enforcement, community outreach programs, churches and volunteers to assist individuals and families stricken by homelessness or struggling with substance abuse disorders. We connect them to professionals that will teach them valuable skills to rejoin the work force. We assist with placement for housing and employment opportunities. We do whatever it takes to show them that change is possible and they are not alone.
